Hand Mixer Motor Mechanism

The last dissection provided us with an opportunity to output all the modeling skills we have grasped throughout the year. Dimensionally and structurally accurate model with high fidelity was required to be showcased. Among the three motor choices, we decided to model the hand mixer motor system and the entire mechanism output.

Unlike the other dissections, this dissection requires fully-incorporated teamwork and communication between team members because each dimension on the motor directly affect the dimension of the motor casing, location of the worm gears and the housing, even the location of pillar on the bottom housing. Our output of the final model has demonstrated decent team cooperation between each members. However, during the design process, miscommunication also occurred, which led to unfitting components modeled by each member. Afterwards, we kept in-time communication to make sure all the dimensions we used are consistent. As the result, our team used some self-learnt skill like helix and sweep cut technique, loft and loft cut and custom designed helical gear to the completed the final model.
